Education City universities offer different majors and specializations for local and international students from all around the world. Each university offers a unique program such as Business Administration in Carnegie Mellon University, Media Communication in Northwestern University or Political Science in George Town University. Although the variety in majors and interests, six students found one thing in common and it is the passion of helping people. Those passionate students came up with a charitable project called See The Other Side and proposed it to Vodafone Qatar and now the project became under the initiative of a program in Vodafone called the World of Difference Program. The project is mainly aimed to raise awareness to students in Education City of poor people in an area called Naaja in Qatar. Each and every student is bringing in to the project what he/she learned or is learning in university. For example, the three students who are studying media communications are in charge of filming and taking photos of the project. They were also in charge of organizing and choosing pictures that were part of a photo exhibition about the project that went around different universities in EC. The student studying business administration is taking care of all the talking and presentation giving part of the project. This student will be approaching business companies and pitching the idea of the project with hopes of collecting money to send 10 children to school from that area. The political science student is mainly in charge of all the negotiations and agreements that are needed to complete the project. Written by Mohd Fahad Kamal ILQ News
