Qatari newspaper Al-Raya on Saturday condemned the Saudi authorities' continued denial of Qatar's pilgrims' right to perform Hajj for the third season in a row.

Al-Raya said that it is regrettable that Saudi Arabia is trying to distract attention from the truth with false claims while it is fully aware that all the obstacles it has put before Qatar's pilgrims are still in place.

The paper noted that the land port is still closed to Qatari citizens and residents of low income or who cannot travel by air. Meanwhile, aircraft carrying pilgrims from Doha to Jeddah is still forbidden, in addition to the absence of a clear mechanism for the issuance of Hajj visas for the residents of Qatar.

Saudi Arabia bears full responsibility in the repeated prohibition of Qatari citizens and residents from performing Hajj, and its insistence on putting obstacles and preventing the Hajj campaigns from entering the country, Al-Raya stressed.

The State of Qatar sought by all means and ways to communicate with the competent authorities in Saudi Arabia, which put obstacles and difficulties to prevent the arrival of pilgrims and residents of Qatar to its territory, but these efforts failed because Riyadh repeated its allegations that it facilitates the arrival of pilgrims in an attempt to escape the truth and recognize the politicization of Hajj, and thus bear the consequences of these behaviors that are contrary to all international laws, Al-Raya concluded.
