Kulluna, sponsored by ConocoPhillips Qatar, was launched over a year ago as a national campaign to raise awareness about health and safety in Qatar. “With Safe Kids Qatar, Kulluna has just begun its second year campaign with stronger and bigger emphasis on child safety, particularly child car passenger safety,” HITC director and Kulluna chairman Dr Khalid Abdulnoor Saifeldeen said at a press conference organised to announce the new initiative. He said that the achievement by HITC was a result of the tremendous hard work and dedication of so many people who helped the centre as the organiser of Kulluna succeed in its child safety initiatives, such as safety at home, in and around water as well as car passenger safety. The official explained that Safe Kids Qatar will also aim to seek opportunities for collaboration and partnership with other child safety initiatives in the country. He thanked Safe Kids Worldwide for recognising HITC as one of its international network members . While acknowledging the accomplishments of HITC in tackling high risk issues such as child car seat safety and home safety among others, Safe Kids Worldwide chairperson and chief executive officer Kate Carr said too many children had died in road crashes as a result of reasons that could have been prevented. http://www.gulf-times.com/qatar/178/details/374031/safe-kids-qatar-launched
