In light of the recent UCI Road World Championships Doha 2016, certain roads around the city will close at specific times in order for the races to commence. The competition will mostly take place at the Pearl-Qatar, so that's where the majority of the road closures will be.
Shuttle buses will depart Medina Centrale in The Pearl-Qatar to Doha Exhibition Center (DEC) and onwards to the large parking lot at Katara Cultural Village (near the St. Regis roundabout). This service begins from 8:00 am on October 8 and runs through October 16 at midnight.
It should be noted that one hour before each race, until two hours after each race, the frequency of each bus shall be every 10 minutes. Outside of these hours, the frequency will be one per-hour, departing on top of the hour from Medina Centrale and from the large parking lot at Katara (operating in opposite directions).

PRE/POST RACES
Before the commencement of any race on any given day during the Championships, all roads within The Pearl-Qatar will be closed approximately two hours prior to the start of the race(s) and will re-open to the public approximately one hour after the race(s) has ended.
When roads are open to the public, traffic will resume normally in and out of The Pearl-Qatar. Residents and visitors will be able to transport using their vehicles.
DURING THE RACES
During any given race taking place at The Pearl-Qatar, different means of transportation will be available for travel within and in/out of the island. They will also be hosting The Hub, an exclusive area near Katara for a temporary oasis for residents of The Pearl-Qatar as the race completes.
MOVEMENT WITHIN THE PEARL-QATAR
Residents and visitors located on the island during a race will have the luxury of being transported within The Pearl-Qatar on golf carts. Additionally, side-walks throughout The Pearl-Qatar will be operational and open for those who prefer to walk to their local destination.
MOVEMENTS IN AND OUT OF THE PEARL-QATAR
People located on the island during a race will also be able to exit The Pearl-Qatar if their car is already parked in Medina Centrale.
