Al Khor Park is scheduled to reopen in August, with the Public Gardens Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning reviewing safety measures at the park.
The department wants to ensure that the park, which is undergoing a massive QR250mn renovation, enjoys the highest safety and security standards, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.
The park was scheduled to reopen during the first quarter of this year but it was postponed over safety concerns. It is spread over 240,000sqm and includes two sections.
The first section is designed like a cave and hosts various animals and reptiles. It also has space for horse riding, a museum and a lecture hall.
The other section includes playgrounds for children, a mini golf field and recreational areas, besides open green spaces.
