The president and chief executive officer of Raymond Weil, Olivier Bernheim, yesterday said the company is planning to expand its business here and is looking for a place to open its second store in the country. “Despite the international turmoil, Raymond Weil is doing well here… and we are planning on expanding our business and looking for places to open our second store here in Qatar,” said Bernheim. Bernheim said he will be checking out several locations during his stay here. The Pearl-Qatar and Lagoona Qatar, both in the West Bay area, are on his list of places to check. According to Bernheim, Raymond Weil had to constantly work with coherence and consistency, and be a trendsetter, to thrive in the changing market. “We are developing our sales designs and our watches… and we constantly look after creation and innovation. The market today has totally changed. We’re not just selling a name, we’re selling a brand… and we needed to think and act globally.” Raymond Weil unveiled two of its new pieces, the Nabucco Rivoluzione, which is part of the Nabucco mechanical collection, and Noemia, made with a sophisticated design and sparkling diamonds. “Most people nowadays want to go around the world with the brand… and we have noticed that most men here wear prominent timepieces… Nabucco, which is part of our new collection, embodies prominence and masculine elegance,” said Bernheim. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=May2009&file=Local_News200905123012.xml
