RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) has presented a cheque for QR1m to the Qatar Social and Cultural Centre for the Blind (QSCCB) as part of its commitment to helping the local community. The funds were raised earlier this year as a result of the generosity of RasGas’ key suppliers, partners and shareholders, along with high-profile guests, employees and golf professionals who participated in the annual RasGas Charity Gala Dinner 2009. The cheque was presented by Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, RasGas Managing Director-CEO and Tom Mc Hale, RasGas Group Finance Manager and Chairman of the RasGas Golf Committee, on Monday at the RasGas Tower in Doha. Hassan Ibrahim Al Kuwari, Chairman, and Mutar Abdulla Al Mansoori, General Secretary of QSCCB, were on hand to accept the donation. Members of the RasGas Golf Committee were also present at the event. Al Mohannadi said RasGas was committed to supporting a variety of community, educational, environmental, health-related and sports-related activities as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. Over QR2m has been generated by the annual RasGas Charity Gala Dinner and Pro Am Golf event in the last four years. Al Kuwari said QSCCB was very grateful to RasGas for its generous contribution. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=April2009&file=Local_News2009042532530.xml
