RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) has reached another milestone by logging 22 million man-hours without a lost time incident (LTI), it was announced on Sunday. This impressive record was achieved between December 30, 2007 and April 4, 2008, by the RasGas Expansion Project Phase 2 onshore engineering procurement contractor (EPC) workforce. During this three-month period the workforce exceeded 25,000 people. This achievement stems from RasGas' ongoing commitment to safety and improvement programmes operated by project owners and contractor management to foster and sustain high standards of safety. The RasGas Phase 2 Onshore Expansion Project includes the development of two large LNG (liquefied natural gas) processing trains, Trains 6 and 7, for Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (RL 3), a joint venture company between Qatar Petroleum (70 percent) and ExxonMobil RasGas Inc (30 percent), as well as a separate gas sales facility, Al Khaleej Gas Phase 2 Project (AKG-2). Bill Bacon (pictured), Senior Project Manager for the RGX2 project said, "The management of RasGas and our contractors are determined to provide a safe environment for all personnel who work on any RasGas facility. It is a core commitment of ours to make sure that each person receives comprehensive safety training and encouragement to ensure they return home safely to their families." The Peninsula
