Qtel yesterday announced that it would be the main sponsor of the upcoming third Inter-Indian School Youth Festival. The festival, which will run until May 20, will bring together students from Indian schools across Qatar. Thousands of spectators are expected to enjoy the exciting range of cultural and educational activities, with an incredible Grand Finale set to take place at Doha Cinema on the last day. More than 1,500 students from seven Indian community schools are expected to take part in the event. Among the exciting events planned are a special series of folk dances, poetry recitations and light music festivals. The results of a series of essay, poetry and story-writing contests will also be announced. Qtel has a long-standing relationship with the Inter-Indian School Youth Festival, which is organised by the expatriate group, Friends of Thrissur, which is under the aegis of the Indian Embassy. As part of its support for the event, Qtel is providing a range of special support services, including a booth at the event offering dedicated communication products for Indian nationals who live in Qatar. Qtel continues to offer incredible value for people calling friends and family in their home country. Qtel’s Community Relations team will also provide material and voluntary support to help with the success of the Festival. Qtel’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, “For Qatar, Hand in Hand,” has been developed to provide direct and sustainable support for all sections of the community in Qatar.
