Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has developed an ambitious plan to expand the medical convoys program that it carries out annually, in order to provide health care and specialized surgeries for patients who are unable in countries stricken or lacking medical capabilities, funded by the proceeds of the contributions of philanthropists in the State of Qatar.
QRCS said that it intends to send 26 medical convoys to 10 countries: Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Sudan, Mauritania, Iraq, Pakistan, Syrian refugees in Turkey, Palestine, Lebanon and Bangladesh, noting that the total number of beneficiaries is more than 14000 patients.
QRCS launched 10 medical convoys in 2019, which helped treat 7,645 patients in many specialties.
