The Criminal Court has imposed a fine of QR10,000 on a Gulf national who was convicted of causing injuries to a person in a traffic accident due to rash driving, negligence and failure to remain cautious on the road, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.
The accused was driving down Al Furousiya Street at 10.30pm when his car collided with a vehicle in front. Two more vehicles were hit in the process before the second car overturned, according to the report.
The person driving the second car, who suffered serious injuries and would undergo a surgery, claimed compensation, the report states.
The Gulf national admitted that he was driving at a high speed and had caused the accident.
The court decided to impose a fine on him under Article 312 of the Criminal Law, the report adds.
