Qatar Islamic Bank ( QIB ) – the leading Islamic bank in Qatar – has received the prestigious annual STP Award, presented by Commerzbank, for outstanding performance in straight-through-processing and the delivery of commercial and financial payments in euros. The award recognises QIB’s state-of-the-art in-house payment architecture and reflects the Bank's consistently high SWIFT standards, which facilitate automated processing throughout the payment chain.

Benjamin Duve of Commerzbank also praised the high standard of QIB’s operational services along with its professionalism. “QIB, with its strong presence in wholesale banking and trade finance, is one of our key accounts in Qatar to receive recognition for operational excellence in this field. Accuracy in transactions was one of the key criteria for Commerzbank when selecting winners of the award,” he said.
