Qatar Handball Association (QHA) has decided to resume the men's category competitions for the sports season 2019/2020, starting on September 10.

"In order to ensure the safety of the handball game, the Qatar Olympic Committee was addressed with regard to precautionary measures to complete the matches, and based on the response of the Olympic Committee, it has been decided to complete the sports season 2019/2020 starting from September 10 according to the schedule that will be issued later", QHA said in a statement.

It added that the clubs would complete the remainder of the 2019/2020 season with the same players registered in the club lists since the beginning of the season without change, except for the change of professional players according to what is followed in the QHA regulations.

The General Handball League for men was suspended after the 5th round of the participation of Al Shamal, Al Arabi and Al-Ahly teams in the Arab Championship of the Clubs Cup Winners in its 15th edition that was held in March in the city of Bani Khiar in the Tunisian state of Nabeul, and Al Shamal was crowned as its champion for the first time in its history after winning the final match over Al-Arabi with a score of 31/31, before all sports activities and matches organized by the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) were suspended due to the (Covid 19) pandemic.
