Qatar Cancer Society has launched recently an awareness campaign about cancer in general and ways to prevent it due to the believe of the association of the importance of lectures and events in order to raise awareness about different types of cancers in the Qatari society to have a society free of cancer .

The health education department of Qatar Cancer Society has organized an awareness lecture to seventy employees from La Cigale Hotel to raise awareness about cancer in general as well as to clarify the causes and the methods of prevention, the factors of infection, ways to avoid it and how to inform the employees and the society regarding the idea that having cancer does not necessarily mean death, which means that cancer is a disease that can be defeated in case it has been discovered in its first stages.

The lecture also consisted about the need of a healthy lifestyle to prevent cancer, such as eating healthy foods; exercising on a regular basis and sleeping a sufficient number of hours a day in order strengthen the immune system and protect the body from being susceptible to various cancers.

From her side, Mrs. Christelle Bou Chebel ,public relations manager of La Cigale Hotel stressed the importance to have such a useful lectures and events in their establishment to educate employees about cancer in general, and added: "we are pleased to participate in the march awareness campaign, since our concern is to raise awareness about cancer in general and the types of various cancers and to spread the culture of health and how to protect it as much as possible in the Qatari society in general and among our employees in particular.”

Mr. Khalid El Chaar Director of Human Resources at the hotel has enriched the cooperation between the hotel and QCS, where he confirmed that the human resources department at the hotel always works on educating employees about all the diseases that may affect them in the future and to clarify the importance of prevention through a healthy lifestyle and exercise.

Ms. Heba Nassar health educator at QCS said: “I would like to express my deep appreciation to La Cigale hotel for their efforts in fighting cancer through supporting our educational mission”

“I would also like to thank all those that have supported QCS and helped to spread its message by educating the community about cancer and how to prevent and treat the disease” added Nassar.
