QCB to hold 3km race to mark ‘Sports Day'

The Qatar Central Bank, in association with Qatar banks, is organising a 3km race to mark the National Sports Day, which falls on February 14 this year. According to an official , the race will start at 9am from Al Bidda Park and will end at the QCB building on the Corniche . All participants will be wearing T-shirts carrying a number and the logo of the bank or the financial institution he represents. At a co-ordinating meeting held yesterday by the committee organising the Sports Day, with representatives from banks and financial institutions, the events to be held on the day were discussed . The meeting was held at Qatar Credit Bureau under the supervision of Abdullah Ahmed El Zeiny , the vice chairman of the higher committee organising the sports day. El-Zeiny announced that the registration of participants had started on January 21. “The forms of registration will be distributed through the banks and the financial institutions participating in the events of the day. “The participants will be divided into three categories, 18-30 years, 31-45 years and over 46 years. The top ten winners will be given cash awards, ranging from QR10,000 for the first winner and QR1,000 for the tenth. The top three banks will be awarded trophies.” Gulf Times
