Qatar’s population has increased 2.6% year-on-year to 2.644mn in January, according to Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS).
But compared to December 2017, there was only a marginal increase in population of 0.08%, MDPS data shows.
The highest in recent months was in May last year when MDPS had reported the population touched 2.7mn for the first time ever.
The lowest figure in recent times was 2.44mn in August 2017 when a significant number of residents were on holidays.
