Qatar's participation in the Extraordinary Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, Extraordinary Arab Summit and Islamic Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation stems from Doha's continued support for joint Arab and Islamic action and its commitment to the interests of the region and its peoples.

Qatar's commitment and active participation regionally and internationally, and its belief in dialogue and peaceful settlement of disputes, is for the security, peace and harmony in the region. It is also to save people from the dangers of wars and conflicts, which plagued the region and its people for a long time.

It pointed out that the delegation of Qatar, headed by His Excellency (H.H.) the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, participated in the three summits, adding that His Excellency met with leaders of brotherly and friendly countries, on the sidelines of these summits, to strengthen relations for the benefit of the people.

His Excellency met with H.E. President of the Republic of Tunisia Beji Caid Essebsi, H.E. President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, H.H. Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, the Advisor to H.M. Sultan Qaboos bin Said of the Sultanate of Oman, H.E. the Prime Minister of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Noureddine Badawi and H.E. the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu.
