Qatar Rail’s MD and project team celebrate the approval of the first underground station, Metro Red Line’s Al Doha Al Jadeda, by Qatar Civil Defence.

The Doha metro is a rapid transit system presently under construction in Doha. It is part of a larger railway network, which comprises of five modern as well as flexible railway systems integrated across the GCC. The larger network includes the development of passenger and freight rail transport systems, alongside fast rail links to the international airport.

The Red Line North (11.30km), Red Line South (12.05km), Green Line (16.60km) and Gold Line (13.30km) are the four major underground alignments of the Doha Metro. This is apart from the nearly 38km of mainly underground light transit rail being developed in Lusail.

The concerned ministry is working round-the-clock to build an modern integrated transport system that would eventually contribute to making a quantum leap in the field of mobility and transportation of international standards in Qatar. Cutting edge technologies are implementing to ensure world class facilities as well as international safety standards.
