Qatari-Omani Joint Committee Concludes the 20th Session in Muscat

The Qatari-Omani Joint Committee concluded its 20th session on Thursday during which areas of cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

The meeting, which was held in Muscat, was attended by H.E. Minister of Finance Ali Shareef Al Emadi, who headed the Qatari delegation, while the Omani delegation was headed by H.E. Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Darwish bin Ismail bin Ali Al Balushi.

Speaking at the event, H.E. Al Emadi said that the Qatari-Omani Joint Committee has become important in enhancing economic cooperation in view of the fundamental developments in the economic relations between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman during this stage. His Excellency reiterated Qatar's commitment to increasing joint investments with Oman in various fields including agriculture, transportation, tourism and other.

H.E. the Minister of Finance stressed the importance of overcoming the obstacles that may face the joint projects, so as to support and expand the joint investments between the two countries.

The progress of several joint projects was discussed during the meeting, as well as new proposals to increase joint investments in agriculture, energy, communications, transport, tourism, banking and education.

During the official visit to Oman, H.E. Al Emadi met with H.E. Deputy Prime Minister for International Cooperation and Special Representative to the Sultan Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said.

A meeting was also held between H.E. Al Emadi and H.E. Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yousuf bin Alawi.
