Fatma Al-Kuwari isn’t afraid to use her bold, inspired designs to showcase Qatari culture in new ways. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar Al-Kuwari began her design business back in 2008, making customized stationary, gift cards, mugs, bags, and gift boxes featuring uniquely Qatari patterns and shapes.

Now, the up-and-coming designer and entrepreneur is opening her first merchandise store on The Pearl-Qatar’s Porto Arabia. Al-Kuwari describes the objects you’ll find on display as “modern, vintage-Qatari life-style products” that span a variety of categories.

Fans of Al-Kuwari’s aesthetic will find greeting cards, notebooks, sticky notes and other stationary, uniquely-designed gift boxes, wrapping paper, paper bags, and accessories such as leather bags, phone cases, and laptop bags.

New to the store will be By Fatma’s new Home section featuring an array of artful and inspired mugs, glasses, rugs, pillows, towels and other home-ware items. The store will also feature a kids corner.

While most products are for daily use, throughout the year Al-Kuwari does special lines of products for Ramadan, Garangao, and Eid celebrations, as well as for Qatar National Day.

The shop is slated to be open by mid-February and will be located next to Fleurs et Café and F45 Fitness.
