A Qatari philanthropist has come to the rescue a five-member family in Gaza which lost its breadwinner in Israeli attacks. The kind-hearted man, who has been identified as Salem Saleh Abu Mohammed, will support the widow and her four children through a monthly assistance of $250. Saleh came to know about the family through a charitable organisation named Al Falah. He has already sent $3,000 (QR11,000 approximately) as initial assistance to the family through this organisation. Meanwhile, Qatar Charity on Sunday sent a shipment containing medical aid to hospitals in the territory. The assistance is part of the ongoing national campaign called Faza to raise funds for the reconstruction of Gaza. Charity has in the past carried out major humanitarian projects in Gaza, including the establishment of a full-fledged children’s hospital. The 100-bed hospital was established last year at a cost of $2m. It has 10 specialised clinics, among other facilities.
