http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/5380/fhe3.jpg The world’s first Qatar-produced video game for mobile devices will be launched next month. The game will be called Giddam and features four main characters wearing local traditional attire. I was devised by Munera Al-Dosari, Faraj Abdulla and Fatima Al-Kuwari, who formed Girnaas Studio with incubation support from ictQatar. The characters will be called Strawberry, Rashid, Big Mama and Ali, will be accessible as a free to download game for Android and Apple IOS and will be unveiled next month at the newly opened Gaming Lounge in Al Sadd Sports Club. “We believe that it is very important to have local games that reflect our rich heritage. We were encouraged to start Girnaas because of our disappointment of the lack of local games that reflect the uniqueness of this region,” co founder Al-Kuwari told Arabian Business. “We want to be able to find and play games that are relevant to us. We also want to use gaming as a platform to export our rich heritage and stories to the whole world, starting by the younger generation here in Qatar and the region.” http://www.arabianbusiness.com/qatar-launch-its-first-locally-made-video-game-527920.html
