Qatar will host the second edition of Arab Woman Awards in cooperation with the Qatari Businesswomen Association, magazines publisher ITP Consumer announced on Wednesday.
The Arab Woman Awards which identify the achievements of women within the field of arts, entrepreneurship, fashion, medicine and charity now perform yearly in UAE, Qatar, Kuwait. The event will take place on October 21 this year at the W Doha Hotel and it will be started in KSA next year.
“Hosting this prestigious award in Qatar for the second year is a testament to the development of women in our society and economy,” said Aisha Alfardan, Vice Chairwoman at Qatari Businesswomen Association.
Bothaina Al Ansari, the winner of the Inspirational Woman Award last year said: “The recognition of female achievements in the Arab world is an important step in encouraging greater empowerment and economic participation. Setting an example for younger generations that dedication and determination can result in great achievements.”
The board of judges includes Senior Director, Human Resources at Ooredoo, Bothaina Al Ansari, Director Communications for the Securities and Exchange Commission, Dr Nawal Sheikh, Marketing and Communication Director for the Anti-Doping Laboratory Qatar, Mashael M Al Ansari, one of Qatar’s leading artists, Amal Al Aathem, Creative Director for Darz Designs, Aisha Al Bedded, and Nadine El Chaer, Editor-in-Chief at ITPLifestyle.
