Hariette Manila, a 14-year-old student in Qatar, recently won honours at the 15th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held in Hollywood, California. She competed in vocal solos in five different categories held from July 15-24. A student at the Philippine School Doha (PSD), Manila won a world champion division winner plaque, a gold medal and three bronze medals in the competition. More than 5,000 amateur and professional artistes from over 40 countries were invited to participate in this year’s event. The WCOPA is the only official “talent Olympics” for aspiring performing artists.
