Qatar and Singapore are set to sign a free trade agreement later this month when Singaporean prime minister Lee Hsien Loong visits the Gulf state. The FTA will cover areas including trade, e-commerce, investment, government procurement, customs and media cooperation, Qatari daily The Peninsula reported on Sunday. Loong will arrive in Doha on Dec. 15 for bilateral talks with prime minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, also the Gulf state's foreign minister, according to the newspaper. "We are confident the FTA will enhance bilateral economic and trade relations by further spurring the growing interest by companies in each other's regions," Umed Singh Bhatia, head of the Singaporean mission to Qatar, was quoted as saying. http://www.arabianbusiness.com/540545-qatar-singapore-to-pen-fta
