Qatar’s Mazaya to build US$288m Doha mall

Mazaya Qatar for Real Estate Development is to start construction on a QAR432m (US$288m) new mall in late 2012 or early 2013, the Doha-based developer’s chairman confirmed. The report said the outlet will spread over 30,000m and would start construction by early 2013 at the latest. The mall is one of a number of projects Mazaya is currently working on, its chairman Rashid Fahad Al Naimi told the state-backed Qatar News Agency (QNA) "The second half of 2012 will see the announcement of more projects," he confirmed. Mazaya is involved in the Tala Residence and project where it is developing 346 housing units for the Qatar National Convention Centre's employees. The project is fully owned by Mazaya and Al Naimi confirmed delivery of the units has already begun. The second project was the US$172m Sidra village, which will provide housing to nurses and technicians of the Sidra Medical and Research Centre Finally, it is working on project the Marina Mall project. Located in Lusail, Al Naimi said the US$411m project is likely to be tendered in the second half of 2012 and is set to be completed in 2015.
