Qatar ranked first amidst 150 countries in the “Employment Index”, which measures the rates of employment and unemployment amongst the population. Qatar also scored advanced ranks for the quality and availability of infrastructure, due to notable achievements in the field over the past five years as reported by Qatar Chronicle. A new survey conducted by “The Boston Consulting Group” confirmed that this is a remarkable feat for Qatar, given that employment rates are considered a major factor in estimating long-term welfare of a country, as well as a crucial indicator of economic power. In contrast, high unemployment rates constitute a burden to continual development.
