His Excellency (H.E.) Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani has taken the oath as the Prime Minister and and also the Minister of Interior at the Amiri Diwan a short while ago, before His Highness (H.H.) the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, according to QNA.
This means that H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani has not only resigned from the post of Prime Minister, but also from the post of Minister of Interior.
The oath taking ceremony was also attended by H.H. the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani.
In addition, H.H. the Amir issued the Amiri Order No. (3) for the year 2020 regarding the formation of the Council of Ministers, as follows:
The Council of Ministers have also taken the oath at the Amiri Diwan.
In addition, H.E. Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani has been appointed as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has accepted the resignation of H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister, based on the Amiri Order No. (1) for the year 2020, according to QNA.
H.E. Sheikh Abdullah served as Qatar's Prime Minister since 2013 and is also the Minister of Interior, a position he will retain.
H.H. The Amir has issued an Amiri Decree No. (2) for the year 2020, and has appointed H. E. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani as Prime Minister. H.E. Sheikh Khalid was the Chief of the Amiri Diwan since 2014. He also sits on the board of the Sports and Social Activities Support Fund (Daam).
According to the Amiri order, the resignation of the former Prime Minister shall be enforced from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
On his Twitter Page, H.E. Sheikh Abdullah, wrote the following message:
"In the beginning, I would like to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for the precious confidence that he has shown me throughout the period of my service, and for his guidance to me over the past years, and I also hope that I have succeeded in bearing responsibility and honesty throughout my service for the homeland and the Amir.
"I also thank everyone who worked with me; they were the best support. May God protect the Amir, may God protect Qatar, and peace and God's mercy and blessings be upon you.
I Love Qatar thanks the former Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of Interior H.E. Sheikh Abdullah for his service to the country and for steering it towards more progress and prosperity, and welcomes the new Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of Interior H.E. Sheikh Khalid.
