Philippine Embassy announces temporary closure over employees contracting COVID-19

The Philippine Embassy in Qatar advised the Filipino community and the general public of its temporary closure until January 9 after a number of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Its Facebook announcement stated that other personnel have also started to show symptoms and are now being closely monitored by the Embassy.

Signed by Philippine Ambassador H.E. Alan Timbayan, the message further that the Embassy personnel who tested positive for COVID-19 will quarantine for 14 days at home while the rest for 7 days and will be tested again on Saturday, 8th January.

The Embassy will resume operations on January 10. During the closure, the Embassy may be reached through the following numbers:
