Qatar is participating in the seventh UN annual Forum on Business and Human Rights, which is being held in Geneva from November 26 to 28 under the theme “Business respect for human rights building on what works”.
Qatar’s delegation is headed by the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations in Geneva Ali Khalfan al-Mansouri, and with the participation of the Assistant Director of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Youssef al-Thani.
The UN annual Forum on Business and Human Rights focuses on topics that relate to the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (the United Nations “Protect, Respect and Remedy” Framework), as well as trends and challenges in the implementation of the Guiding Principles and promote dialogue and co-operation on issues linked to business and human rights.
The UN Forum is the world’s largest annual gathering on business and human rights with more than 2,000 participants from government, business, community groups and civil society, law firms, investor organisations, UN bodies, national human rights institutions, trade unions, academia and the media.
Qatar had hosted the First UN Asia Regional Forum on Business and Human Rights in 2016.
