The inauguration is a continuation of the first phase of the launch of electric car charging stations in Qatar as part of the green vehicles initiative to provide a clean, healthy and safe environment for future generations. The initiative also coincides with Tarsheed missions which is the reduction of harmful carbon emissions by 7 percent across all sectors in Qatar by 2022 according to the Second National Development Strategy 2018-2022.
