CP Club is a new twist on the members-only arts club based in the heart of Doha’s creative oasis and burgeoning design district, Msheireb – home to Qatar’s new hub for innovation and entrepreneurship M7, the Fashion Trust Arabia Prize, and the recently announced Tasweer photography festival. Founded by H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, in collaboration with Msheireb Properties and Whitney Robinson’s DW Northstar, and with the gracious sponsorship of the Qatar National Tourism Council (NTC), CP Club provides intimate, inspiring and engaging atmospheres in which to relax, network and entertain.

The CP Club complex comprises a clubhouse with a café and members lounge plus 14 unique houses that have been expertly curated by leading international names in fashion and interior design, including Diane von Furstenberg, Armani/Casa, Minotti, Daniel Arsham, India Mahdavi, Marie-Anne Oudejans & Filipa de Abreu, Donna Karan/Urban Zen, Luxury Living, The Future Perfect and Rossana Orlandi, and by notable Qatari artists and designers Aisha Al-Sowaidi and Wadha.

Members enjoy exclusive use of the Majlis clubhouse and café, a dramatic reimagining of the traditional gathering space, as well as pop-up boutiques and cafés, bespoke programming, fashion shows, jewelry exhibitions, conversations with designers, artists and architects, and an innovative scent garden designed by master perfumer Julian Bedel. CP Club members also enjoy priority access to rent any of the fourteen designer townhouses.

H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, said: “CP Club will be a space for Qatar’s most creative people to meet informally and exchange ideas in a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. Established in the ideal neighborhood in Doha, amidst the most varied and inspiring settings, CP Club stands ready to welcome a membership as stimulating and inventive as the facilities themselves.”

Speaking about Doha, where she has now designed one of the Msheireb townhouses, Diane von Furstenberg stated, “What a gem … its history from being a secret paradise of pearl fishermen to become a modern center of education and art. The more you drive around the more inspiring it gets ... the Rem Koolhaas library, Sheikha Moza Foundation, the theatres, the restaurants ... all of it is magical! To design a DVF pied à terre in Doha is an honor and a privilege ... I love Doha!”

Multidisciplinary artist and designer Aisha al-Sowaidi, who grew up in Doha, explained “Msheireb holds a lot of memories for me. It is an area rich with history and culture. I thrive on reflecting memories on design and creating objects that conceptually tell a story. Once introduced to the townhouse project, I was taken back in time to Doha, to the streets, to the houses, and to all those emotions attached to them.”

“I think the sort of originality and comfort that comes about through selecting your own furniture, design and art objects can make something feel and have a particular character,” stated experimental artist and designer Daniel Arsham, speaking about the townhouse he curated. “I'm so much invested in the combination of art and architecture, what I hope to do with this place in Doha is to create a universe that people can step into and experience and have this kind of complete worldview.”

Tours for prospective members will begin on 7 December 2020. For more information, pricing and to schedule a tour please email [email protected] and [email protected]

Note: In accordance with nationally mandated health and safety protocols, CP Club members and guests are required to present a “green” health status on the Ehteraz virus-tracing app and to bring and wear face coverings for the duration of their visit. CP Club encourages safe social distancing throughout the complex.
