The Qatar Motor Show featuring industry leaders will open on January 25 at the Doha Exhibition Centre (DEC) and enthrall car enthusiasts up to January 28, organisers announced yesterday. The event will be open to VIPs and the press on January 23 and 24. The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will organise QMS 2012 in partnership with q.media Events and GL events. It will be held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, organisers said. Returning to the QMS 2012 will be the outdoor show, organised in association with Red Bull Energy Drink. A newly expanded and redesigned outdoor arena at the DEC will be the site for thrilling demonstrations, FMX, trial bike and stunt bike shows. Visitors will have the opportunity to try the latest models of car and SUVs in the two test drive areas: the asphalt drift track and a new off-road track. All motorsport fans will get a chance to receive professional driving tips during demo sessions from world-renowned professional drivers, including the Lebanese Red Bull athlete Abdo Feghali, the rally and Middle East Hill Climb champion. The 2012 Qatar Motor Show will also host the exciting FMX Show, a must-see for extreme sports lovers. Some of the finest freestyle motocross riders will show off their daredevil technical skills in front of thousands of spectators. Gulf Times
