Qatar Motor Show 2017

Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Fira Qatar, organisers of Qatar Motor Show (QMS), have announced the show’s return for an eighth edition from 17 and 21 October 2018, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

A number of automotive brands will participate in this year’s edition, which will be held under the theme ‘Driving to Innovation’. This year's exhibition is the first to be held under QMS’ new strategy, which aims to provide richer content, with a focus on innovation and sustainability. The show’s strategy is also geared towards raising the profile of the show on the international calendar of automotive events, with the dates of the show changing to make it the first in the region, giving international brands the opportunity to showcase their latest designs to audiences in Qatar before any other market.

Ahmed Al Obaidli, Director of Exhibitions at QTA, commented: “QMS is testament to how a true public-private partnership can raise the profile of a local event on the international level. QMS and other exhibitions form a key part of our strategy to empower important players in the business events industry, while raising Qatar's profile as a premium destination for business events." He added: "QMS’ new strategy is aimed at maximizing the exhibition's value for both exhibitors and visitors, by enhancing content related to innovation. This will help promote the status of the show as a prominent international automotive event."

Over the past seven year, QMS has evolved to become one of the leading motor shows in the region, strengthening its position as a platform for interaction between international brands and their local agents on the one hand; and consumers and potential customers in Qatar and the region on the other. The previous edition of QMS welcomed more than 50,000 visitors.

Ahmed Almulla, Chief Operating Officer Entertainment at Elan Events, commented: “QMS remains among the biggest consumer events in Qatar, receiving consistently great interest from residents and auto enthusiasts from around the region. We develop the show every year so that it can keep abreast of the fast-developing automotive market, as well as changing consumer needs. We are pleased to cooperate with exhibitors to enrich their experience and that of the show’s visitors."

QMS will offer engaging and exciting experiences for visitors, who will be able to see the newest car models and the best offers from various brands under one roof.
