Officials of Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (QTEA) recently met with the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea at the Doha Exhibitions Centre. QTEA Chairman Ahmed Al Nuaimi met with Korean Ambassador to Qatar Kim Jong Yong. Also present at the meeting were Jabor Al Mohannadi, Head of Public and International Relations of QTEA and Koo Heonsang, First Secretary of the Korean Mission. Al Nuaimi discussed with the Korean Ambassador the continuation of cooperation on tourism between the two countries. Earlier this year, Al Nuaimi met with senior officials of the Korean Embassy to discuss ways to enhance Qatar’s tourism strategy with partners in Asia and cooperation between Korea and Qatar in the tourism sector. A Memorandum of Understanding was raised to exchange training and expertise between the two countries. “At Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, we promote tourism as a way to diversify the economy of Qatar and of countries we partner with. The cooperative efforts on tourism between Qatar and Korea will naturally raise the interest in our two countries as we exchange ideas and learn from one another’s experiences,” said Al Nuaimi. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=August2009&file=Local_News2009080925941.xml
