Qatar International Boat Show 2019 to kick off on March 12

The sixth edition of the Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) will start its voyage from March 12 at 25–29, La Croisette, Porto Arabia, The Pearl-Qatar. To be held under the auspices of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani, the five-day event will run until March 16, reported Qatar Tribune.

The event will play host to top quality and art of craftsmanship boats from many countries, including Germany, Italy, Pakistan and Turkey and will introduce the region’s boat enthusiasts to the latest technological advancements. This year, the show expects to attract more than 30 impressive motorboats, luxury yachts and unique dhows, which will be displayed both on land and water and be complemented by exhibitor chalets, representing many of the top names in the maritime industry, both local and international, along the marina walkway.

A press conference to announce the event was attended by Khalid Issa al Mannai, chairman of Al Mannai Plus Events, the organising company of QIBS 2019, Loay Dalis, Al Mannai Plus Events CEO, Lieutenant Fahad Abdul Aziz al Mislimani from General Directorate of Coast and Borders Security, Sarah Teubner from MORSA ITC, and Captain Mohamed Ali Abdul Rahim from QIG Marine. Speaking on the occasion, Mannai said, ““This year, we are celebrating the 6th edition of the QIBS which has its deep passion to be a strong arm promoting and supporting the tourism and exhibitions industry in Qatar.”

He said the exhibitions have witnessed deals worth tens of millions of Qatari riyals and received thousands of visitors from Qatar and abroad. The Qatar boat exhibition, he said, has encouraged and attracted private sector to investment in marine industry. On his part, Dalis said, “Today, it is exactly one year and nine months that our wonderful country, its people and residents have been passing through unjust land, air space and trade blockade imposed by our neighbours. However, we are fortunate that we are blessed with the wise and strong leadership, which has given us - the business community - confidence and all support to stand on our feet and not get discouraged by any outside threats and negative attitudes of others.”

He added, “I believe that with the new facilities to the investors in recently established Qatar Free Zones Authority by the government, we expect to attract local and foreign investors towards marine industry and services relating to it.”
