Qatar Handball strengthens bonds with EHF
and promotes 2015 World Championship advertising campaign
Cologne, 01.06.2013 - Europe’s top four club teams, FC Barcelona Intersport from Spain, KS Vive Targi Kielce from Poland, and German clubs THW Kiel and HSV Hamburg, gathered in the German city of Cologne during June’s first weekend to claim the prestigious Champions League trophy for yet another glamorous handball season finale.
Delegations from all handball superpowers, sports’ legends and officials visited Cologne for the highly-rated European Handball Federation (EHF) club competition event, the 2013 VELUX EHF FINAL4, which is being held at the famous LANXESS Arena.
A strong Qatari delegation representing the Qatar 2015 Men’s World Championship Organising Committee, presided by the head of the Qatar Handball Association and Executive Director of the Games Mr Ahmed Mohammed Al-Shaabi, arrived in Cologne with the purpose to enhance the relationship between QHF and the EHF, to boost the image of the Qatari handball on European soil and above all to promote the 2015 Men’s World Championship advertising campaign.
The Qatar 2015 Marketing Department worked hard to prepare and secure two booths used for promotional activities inside and outside the LANXESS Arena, where thousands of fans were challenged either to test their shooting accuracy or to interact by posing in special designed Qatari landscapes as background and share their pictures with friends on social media.
All visitors of Qatar 2015 hotspots in Cologne were informed about Qatar Airways seductive hospitality packages for the 2015 World Championship, the first ever that will be held in Middle East, tailored to fit every wallet. Many were tempted by the unique offers to follow and support their favourite national team efforts in a unique event which, for the first time ever will be staged in a single city and in four state-of-the-art indoor halls across Doha. The 24th Men’s World Championship will be played from 11 to 27 January 2015.
Since the early days of May the 2015 Organising Committee and the EHF Marketing GmbH, work together to promote the 2015 World Handball Championship to fans across Europe, beginning with the 2013 VELUX EHF FINAL4. The deal also includes promotional events at the next two VELUX EHF FINAL4 events and at selected matches in the VELUX EHF Champions League over the next two seasons.
