Qatar get ready to host Gymnasiade in 2009

Jean-Louis Boujon-President of International School Sport Federation (ISF) said that Qatar is capable enough to organise the biggest school sport of the world known as Gymnasiade in December 2009. In a joint press conference held yesterday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to unveil details of Doha 2009 Gymnasiade, ISF president ensured that Qatar has sport facilities of international level. Rabea Al Kaabi - Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Organising Committee Chairman, Khalil Al Jaber-director of the tournament, Abdulrahman Al Shathri- organising committee member and president of Qatar Association Athletics Federation and members of ISF delegation attended the press conference. Prior to the press conference, Al Kaabi met at his office the president and delegation members of International School Sport Federation. The Doha 2009 Gymnasiade will see some 4,000 international students between the age of 15 and 18 come to Qatar to compete in aquatics (swimming and diving), athletics and gymnastics events. The 2009 Gymnasiade will be organised by the Ministry of Education of Qatar, which has been appointed by the International School Sport Federation (ISF).
