Qatar Gas and Traffic Department Join for Road Safety

Qatar Traffic Department and Qatargas have joined hands to promote road safety through a national campaign for road safety with the Steer Club launching its third mega raffle in November to coincide with the national symposium on road safety, which will be sponsored by Qatargas. Toufik Benmosbah, Chief Safety, Environment and Quality Officer, commented; "Qatargas attaches top priority to safety. Under the 'Incident and Injury Free' programme and the safety spirit, volunteers created the Steer Club." Since its launch, about 3,100 members have registered with the Club. Members have benefited from two mega raffles. The club is managed currently by a group of volunteers from Qatargas and RasGas. Qatargas has been promoting safety at work and safe driving. With this in mind, it launched the Steer Club — Safe Traffic Ethics on Every Road in Qatar — in July 2006. This club aims to influence positive driving attributes, unite defensive drivers under one umbrella and ultimately celebrate safe driving by giving prizes to safe drivers. Steer Club is a virtual club that aims to establish a unique identity for safe drivers and inspire others to join this movement.
