The Public Health Department at the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) yesterday said that no case of Ebola had been reported in Qatar. SCH said it had been monitoring the global situation and the latest WHO recommendations in this regard. Meanwhile, the Saudi health ministry has said doctors in the kingdom are testing a patient suspected of having contracted Ebola during a trip to west Africa. The Saudi man was admitted to hospital in the Red Sea city of Jeddah after showing symptoms of haemorrhagic fever upon his return from Sierra Leone. The patient, in his 40s, is in critical condition and has symptoms “similar to that of Ebola infection”.
