The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has announced that the state of Qatar, through the Qatar Fund for Development, has donated $5 million to Ukraine for medical care.
The donation was received by the Ministry of Health as part of the UNITED24 initiative by Ukraine. The funds will be used to purchase ambulances as well as anaesthetic apparatus for inhalation and anaesthesia for surgical interventions in medical institutions.
As per the Ministry, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko says, "For the first time in two months of UNITED24's work on medical care, a contribution was made from a large fund. Such donations from the funds are critical for us because we understand that with one payment we can cover a great need."
"We thank Qatar Fund For Development for its significant contribution to saving lives. We invite other organizations to cooperate so that the funds raised to help Ukrainians are used effectively and purposefully." the Minister adds.
