Qatar Charity to host Third Council of Corporate Social Responsibility

DOHA: Qatar Charity will host the Third Council of the Corporate Social Responsibility at its headquarters under the title ‘Institutional Partnerships in the Charitable Sector: Challenges and Opportunities in Qatar’ with the participation of Vodafone Telecom, today. “The Third Council of the Corporate Social Responsibility aims to activate and build partnerships between commercial and charitable sector on the basis of common interests and mutual understanding of goals based on the positive relations in common,” said Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity. He added that the meeting will explore environment friendly innovative ways for promoting the strategy of green Qatar. In addition, the meeting will discuss many ideas, experiences and projects aimed at activating partnerships and charitable initiatives, and create a non-formal and effective community for experts and institutions of social responsibility willing to cooperate on projects and exchange of ideas. “Qatar Charity is largely interested in social responsibility of the companies and institutions through its efforts to build institutional partnerships and cooperation with many private sector companies to implement various development programs locally and internationally,” he stressed. Luisa Gentile, head of social responsibility Vodafone Qatar said, “The council of corporate social responsibility is an important foundation for networking and exchange of information with various partners to promote and raise the rates of awareness of building a culture of partnership of corporate social responsibility, where everyone can take part.” She added that the meeting is a suitable chance to exchange ideas and discusses many topics and important issues such as building a sustainable charity projects and the establishment of social responsibility initiatives and partnerships between charities, local businesses and NGOs. The agenda of the Conference includes a series of activities and presentations from the participants, speeches by Aisha Al Mudaihky, Executive Director of Silatech Foundation, and Nabil Tabbara, the Executive Director of individuals banking services management in Doha Bank. Many Qatari companies and institutions such as Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Gas, Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar Charity Radio will participate in the meeting. the peninsula
