Qatar Charity has signed three agreements with each of the Hashemite Jordanian Charitable Organization and the Arab Medical Relief Society aimed at developing existing cooperation and joint coordination in the field of projects and aid for Syrian refugees and segments affected by the Syrian crisis.
The agreements included a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) , and a cooperation agreement in the field of orphan care, between Qatar Charity and the Hashemite Jordanian Charitable Organization.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen the strategic partnership that has existed between the two sides for several years, given that the organization is the body empowered to supervise and coordinate relief projects in Jordan, and develop cooperation between them to implement more joint programs and projects and to develop existing programs and projects.
The cooperation agreement aims to coordinate efforts in areas of social welfare, sponsorship of orphans, families with limited income, students and people with special needs directed to refugees residing in Jordan and members of the local community.
Qatar Charity, the Arab Medical Relief Society, and the Hashemite Jordanian Charitable Organization have signed a contract to operate the Qatar Comprehensive Medical Center in Zaatari Camp, which was established by Qatar Charity in cooperation with the Arab Medical Relief Society to continue providing medical care to Syrian refugees in the camp for another year.
According to the signed contract, Qatar Charity is to provide operating expenses for the center (career staff, medicines, medical and technical supplies), while the Arab Medical Relief Society manages the center and the Jordanian Charitable Organization to facilitate the procedures for financial transfers and financial disbursements.
The Qatar Comprehensive Medical Centre is one of the largest medical centres in the Zaatari camp, and it includes various specialized clinics in addition to general medicine and dentistry clinics, a pharmacy and a laboratory for medical analysis and has started its work since 2017.
