Qatar Charity (QC) has donated QR 5 million to support the families of victims of the massacre in Christchurch, New Zealand, in coordination with the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand.

The money allocated will help in assisting orphans whose parents have been victims of this incident, widows who have lost their spouses, to provide psychosocial support to the injured and their families, and to pay for the legal protection of families as well as for the restoration of the mosques.

Executive Director of Operations at QC Faisal Rashid Al Fahida said that Qatar Charity was quick to provide humanitarian assistance to the victims of the accident and to stand by their families and alleviate the trauma they suffered, by assisting orphans, widows, low-income families and others.

Qatar had strongly condemned the terrorist attack on worshipers in Christchurch, New Zealand, which resulted in dozens of victims. The incident is one of the most heinous crimes of fanaticism, extremism, and hatred, which are contrary to heavenly laws and human values and target innocents. Such an incident calls for uniting the efforts of the international community to combat terrorism and cleanse the world of its evils and protect humanity from its dangers. Qatar also expressed stand with New Zealand and its full readiness to assist in its actions in the face of extremism. (QNA)
