Qatar Charity and Vodafone have joined hands to provide Iftar for those in need during the holy month of Ramadan. Funded by Vodafone and organised by Qatar Charity, the free daily Iftar will be located at a tent on the grounds of Ahmed Bin Hambal Secondary School in Najma area. A total of 33,000 people — 1,100 people daily — will enjoy a hearty Iftar of meat, rice, dates, juice and water. “Ramadan is a time of giving and we are proud and humbled to know that in partnership with Qatar Charity we will be helping thousands of people break their fast with a good meal in comfortable surroundings,” said Luisa Gentile, Head of CSR, Vodafone Qatar. Mohammed Al Ghamidi, Qatar Charity Executive Director for Local Development, said: “Qatar Charity is working to further expand its partnerships with the private sector to provide social, cultural and developmental services to the local community. We are proud to partner with Vodafone to hold a Ramadan Iftar as a part of our annual Iftar event for labourers. Qatar Charity also organises a mobile Iftar and supports community Iftars as part of its established Ramadan programme throughout Qatar.”
