Qatar Central Bank has issued a statement where they have denied association with the version of the World Cup 2022 commemorative coins that have been recently circulated on social media.
They have mentioned that what is circulating is not officially approved by the organizing authorities and is not associated with the bank in any way, neither does it have legal status or nominal value.
The statement also mentioned that those responsible for issuing these coins will be subject to legal action.
Qatar Central Bank further stated that the official commemorative currency is yet to be issued in coordination with the official authorities.
