Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the Gulf state's $60 billion sovereign wealth fund, has acquired 20 percent of UK property company Chelsfield Partners. Chelsfield, the property company run by Elliott Bernerd and Sir Stuart Lipton, owns London’s Camden market, UK daily The Sunday Times reported on Sunday. The agreement will see an investment partnership between Qatar and the veteran property magnates to take advantage of worsening conditions in the commercial property market, the newspaper said. Property sources believe Qatar has invested more than $147 million for the stake - valuing Chelsfield at more than $735 million. The companies will explore opportunities to acquire assets together, Chelsfield said in a statement emailed to newswire Bloomberg on Sunday. Qatar Investment Authority will be represented on Chelsfield's board by two directors, according to the statement. Arabian Business
