Qatar becomes Tourism Spot

Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority has said all preparations for two major conferences focusing on the international tourism industry have been completed. The Qatar Summit addressing the human resource challenge for tourism, and the 32nd meeting of the Annual Commission for the Middle East will be held in Doha this week, bringing together industry leaders from around the region to address the challenges facing tourism today. The Qatar Summit will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will be followed by a special meeting for the members of the Commission for the Middle East, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday. These two forums will be held at Sharq Village and Spa. Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority is co-hosting the meetings with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). An organising committee including seven members from different departments was set up. They are Jabor al-Mohannadi, head (Public and International Relations), Lahdan al-Muhannadi, head (Local Exhibitions and Licensing) Nasser al-Qayed, head (Administrative Services) Walid Charbel, head (Financial Affairs), Sadeem al-Mahmied, head (Marketing), Mohamed Hafnawi, legal adviser and Mohamed al-Ansari, acting head (Tourist Activities’ Licensing and Classification). Ahmed al-Nuaimi, chairman of Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority said: “Organising a UNWTO meeting is very important for Qatar. We look forward to hosting delegates from all over the world and welcoming them with our signature Qatari hospitality. “With our high standard of services and top notch facilities, Qatar has become one of the most sought-after destinations for meetings and conferences.
