Doha,April,03:Qatar Airways is offering more than 140 career opportunities exclusively for the Qatar youth through Qatar Career Fair 2013, said Kholode M al-Obaidli, Vice President Nationalisation Human Resources. At present, Qatar Airways has more than 27,000 employees the world over.
Speaking to Gulf Times, Kholode said that there were more than 80 graduate development opportunities in the organisation for Qataris.
She said :”The applicants can opt for any of the development tracks in the organisation and they will be offered a rotational policy. Once they complete working in different departments, they can opt for a particular sector in aviation depending on their performance and choice.”
As per the number of Qataris in Qatar Airways, Kholode said that there were 109 Qatari pilots and 34 licensed aircraft engineers.
She said: “We are offering 150 scholarships to Qatari students, 50 for studying for aircraft pilot course, 50 for aircraft maintenance engineering and another 50 for pursuing various other university degrees. These students can study in any of the universities in Qatar and various other universities abroad.”
She also said that as part of the efforts to boost Qatarisation, Qatar Airways team had visited 25 independent schools to interact with the Qatar students and encourage them to participate in the career fair.
According to Kholode, the new international airport is another great opportunity for Qatari nationals with a large number of openings across different sectors of aviation.
She said that there would soon be an advertisement for recruitment of a number of job openings available in the new international airport. “This again will be a great opportunity for the nationals to work with the nation’s official carrier. We are looking towards talented Qatari youngsters who are ready to work in the private sector.”
Officials from the airline are available at the Qatar Airways’ booth to discuss career opportunities with nationals to fill in new vacancies available across the company for Qataris. The opening day of the career fair saw many potential employees, including fresh graduates looking for a career change or a first job, express interest in Qatar Airways’ talent development programmes.

The applicants must have at least a college education for specialised professions and a high school-level education for technical and other sorts of labour. SEC also provides the opportunity for Qatari citizens of both genders to teach at independent schools. They can file their applications online.
Qatari teachers get offered a social bonus of QR4,000 or QR6,400 depending on their marital status. They are also have been offered a housing allowance of either QR2,500 and QR4,000 depending on their marital status too. In addition to QR1,500 transportation allowance and 35% of their basic wage as a bonus for their work nature.
