Qatar 2030 vision lauded by peers

GCC interior ministers have hailed Qatar Vision 2030’s stress on the enhancement of the security system among Gulf states. The ministers, who met last in Oman recently, appreciated Qatar signing the security agreement between GCC countries, which promotes security co-ordination and co-operation among GCC member states. Qatar’s delegation to the 28th meeting was headed by Minister of State for Interior Affairs, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani. “The stability and security enjoyed by the GCC countries certainly reflect positively in creating a suitable environment for the development, prosperity and progress in all fields life,” Saud bin Ibraheem al-Busaeed, Omani Interior Minister who chaired the meeting, said. During the meeting, they discussed the progress made in security co-ordination between member states since the last meeting. The final communiqué issued at the end of the meeting stressed the significance of security co-ordination between GCC member countries as well as the need to be on alert by security agencies of Gulf States. They also renewed their support for all efforts at regional and international level against terrorism and perverted thoughts. They congratulated Saudi Arabia for approving the basic system of the GCC Criminal Information Centre for Combating Drugs and hailed the steps taken by Bahrain towards approving the basic system of the centre as well. They also appreciated Qatar for its efforts for supporting this centre, which will play a great role in the protection of the member countries from the bad effects of drugs and related crimes. They affirmed the necessity of continuing the efforts to preserve the unity, security and independence of Iraq and its sovereignty and not to interfere in its internal matters and also emphasised on the unity, security and stability of Yemen and to not interfere in its internal matters and to co-operate with it sincerely in all activities that would achieve its security and stability.
